SPI-Hub's™ topic search has been refined so that when a search matches >100 journal titles, users are immediately informed of the total number of journal titles matching their query and prompted with choices of viewing: 1)  the top-ranked 50 journal titles; 2) the top-ranked 100 journal titles; or 3) all the journal titles retrieved by their search query.  Users are always encouraged to add more than one or two terms to their searches to make the results more precise.

Yes, SPI-Hub™ was conceived to be a "one-stop shop" for potential authors and researchers. To that end SPI-Hub™ includes tutorials to lead you through the process of using SciENcv to create an NIH Biosketch and creating an ORCID Profile.

SciENcv is an application within My NCBI that can help you create a Biosketch specifically formatted to meet NIH and other government agencies' requirements for grant submission and annual reports. SciENcv leverages information from applications you may already be using such as My NCBI's My Bibliography and your ORCID profile.

Establishing an ORCID profile helps uniquely identify and disambiguate you and your work from other researchers. An ORCID profile is required for some researchers but is encouraged for all investigators.

Impact factors are proprietary and can only be viewed either by directly accessing the journal website or through a proprietary database such as Journal Citation Reports to which your organization may subscribe.

SPI-Hub™ purposefully does not include publishing costs, but rather provides direct links to author instructions, as this is the most valuable mechanism for prospective authors to retrieve, when openly made available by publishers, the most accurate information given that costs may be subject to frequent changes.

SPI-Hub™ records include a field indicating if a journal belongs to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). COPE's Code of Conduct and Best Practices Guidelines require that journal/publisher members define policies for data availability, corrections, and retractions. It is safe to assume that a journal belonging to COPE will have these policies outlined in the information provided for authors. A non-COPE journal may still have these policies available; you can check the direct links provided in SPI-Hub™ to author instructions for more details. If this information is not found in the author instructions, an email should be sent to the editor/editorial team of the journal as some journals may take several years to establish and publish these policies.

SPI-Hub™ currently includes all journals indexed in CINAHL. The Center for Knowledge Management team regularly works to add new CINAHL records and complete metadata records for these titles.

The plan is to incorporate this functionality at a later time as the team is currently determining the most effective mechanisms to accurately map journals to one or more applicable medical specialties.

Yes, while the team regularly adds journals to the SPI-Hub™ database, journals can also be suggested for inclusion using the "Recommend a Journal" form. To date, we have added or completed records for the following titles based on user feedback/requests:
